Application and Interviews
After I applied for the Disney College Program, I did an online interview. Questions were asked about my work ethic and time on the job, questions regarding living situations and anything else related to living and working. All questions were answered by choosing strongly agree, agree, disagree, strongly disagree. After the online interview I was informed that I was a strong candidate for the company and given the number to call and schedule my phone interview.
The time leading up to my phone interview I was extremely nervous. I had prepared as much as I could. Going over hypothetical questions, such as "If you were working Space Mountain and a kid was really excited to ride but too short how would you handle the situation?" I had my answers all ready to go.
Wednesday night came around, I got dressed as though it was I was going to a face to face interview. I figured it was important to prepare the way I would a regular interview. When my phone rang, I was instantly nervous, but knew that I had done all I could to prepare. The lady introduced herself and was very nice. She asked me questions regarding my previous work experience and school. She asked me what my top roles were and why I thought I was best suited for those roles. I had to go through my previous work experience and explain my positions. I would definitely recommend having your resume in front of you for the phone interview. She asked why I wanted to work for Disney and asked what I do first when I'm at Disneyland.
I waited and waited for the hypothetical questions regarding my role choices but they never came. The interview lasted about twenty five minutes. She congratulated me on graduating and informed me that I would be finding out the results in about 4-6 weeks, which would be about Christmas and graduation.
The following Wednesday I received a call from Disney, five weeks early, congratulating me on my acceptance to the Disney College Program.
I hope you find this informative regarding the application process. Prepare as you would for any job interview and you'll do great. Think about why you want to work for Disney, and review your work experience. Relating your previous work experience to the roles you've chosen will look even better! Just remember to relax and breath and you'll do great!
