work, work, work!

Completed my On the Job training this week and was cleared as a Cast Member, I guess you could say I earned my ears! My trainer told me I would make a great cast member and that I'm just what the company looks for in their cast members! Such a great thing to hear! I was very overwhelmed after the first night of training! It's been over a year since i've been on a register, so it was stressful learning a new system, but by the end of day two I definitely got the hang of it and I felt so much better about my new job! So far everything is going great, tonight is my first night of work without my trainer, 9:00pm-1:00am. These late shifts are going to take some getting used to! Hope everyone is doing well, i miss you all

I Have Arrived

So much has happened and changed in the past week it's crazy! I moved to Anaheim on January 10, and got all checked in to my new apartment, which I must say is BEAUTIFUL! I met my new roomies, Abby & Nicole. We live in a very large and spacious one bedroom apartment! Most people in the program are living in two bedroom apartments with five people, I think we lucked out with the one bedroom because we only have to share the kitchen and closet spaces among three people! So far so good! I've met a lot of nice people doing the program, I even met someone who graduated from Chico with me! It's a small world afterall! We had orientations on Tuesday and our main Traditions orientation on Wednesday! I got my Disney ID and my Disneyland name tag! It's all finally starting to feel very real! And for those of you wondering where I'll be working, you can find me in Downtown Disney working at the World of Disney store, which i'm super excited about! Time to head to Disne...

So Close!

Only four days left til I move down south for Disney College Program! I have so much to do before Saturday! Most of my packing is done, all I have left is clothes! It's slowly starting to sink in and I'm just so excited! All my papers are printed out and ready go! We're driving down Saturday and staying in LA before I check in Sunday morning! A couple more errands to run and I'm all set! This is kind of a boring post, but I'm trying to get in the habit of updating this! Things to come: Moving in, apartments, training & Disneyland!

Application and Interviews

After I applied for the Disney College Program, I did an online interview. Questions were asked about my work ethic and time on the job, questions regarding living situations and anything else related to living and working. All questions were answered by choosing strongly agree, agree, disagree, strongly disagree. After the online interview I was informed that I was a strong candidate for the company and given the number to call and schedule my phone interview. The time leading up to my phone interview I was extremely nervous. I had prepared as much as I could. Going over hypothetical questions, such as "If you were working Space Mountain and a kid was really excited to ride but too short how would you handle the situation?" I had my answers all ready to go. Wednesday night came around, I got dressed as though it was I was going to a face to face interview. I figured it was important to prepare the way I would a regular interview. When my phone rang, I was instantly nervous, ...

First Time for Everything...

Well, i've finally decided to get a blog. With all the new changes in my life coming up, I thought this would be a great way to let friends and family stay in contact and keep up with what I'm up to. Also, I'm hoping this will be a great resource for all of those future Cast Members ready to embark on their Disney College Program experience. Personally I can't wait! When I first heard of the Disney College Program, I wanted as much information as I could find for the Disneyland Program. But there wasn't much offered, I kept coming across information from alumni who participated in the program at Walt Disney World. I'm hoping this blog will be a great resource for anyone with questions and what to expect in Anaheim, CA. I'm set to begin my experience in January, so stay tuned. Check back for information regarding application process and interviewing! And for friends and family who wish to keep track of me while I'm away, I'll be posting pictures and s...
